About this project

The aim of this project is to calculate the pressure drop in turbulent flow through a straight smooth pipe. Airflow inside a smooth pipe, which has 4 mm of diameter and 2 m length, was simulated for 50, 40, 30, 20, and 10 m/s inlet velocities. Incompressible steady-state flow analysis with k-omega SST turbulence conditions is considered for the flow. The results from the CFD study are compared with those from an analytical study for validation purpose. It was noted that using SimScale even with automatic meshing as well as solver settings, high accuracy can be achieved. - Copy
