About this project

Non linear static simulation with cyclic symmetry on a 10 deg slice of a steel end-cap subject to external pressure. Mesh size set manually to have a few elements across the thickness. Follower pressure is used to keep pressure load orientation normal to elements during deformation. pressure is defined as 1000 x t in bar Steps interval reduced wrt to default settings (0.01 seconds steps), simulation duration maintained to 1s. The model initially had convergence issues so I also increased the amount of Newton iterations to 50. A Point data captures the displacement of the top point and allows to track buckling initiation.
